Launched today from Vandenberg AFB.

And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

Damn. The one chance I had of seeing the plume while at the office, I had to work from home today and miss it...

Coincidentally, there's a very good chance that the payload was built by Lockheed Martin Space Systems, just down the street from where I work in Sunnyvale, CA. It doesn't look like much but here's where a lot of sensitive DoD space hardware gets built which C-5s and C-17s will come and pick up at NUQ. Would love to get a behind the scenes tour... (wishful thinking).

Negative, I caught it on the news when I got to the hotel.
