Part II of this thread: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=15585

HAM did it again: on Friday, 19 April, we will have the second ramp tour by invitation of Hamburg Airport. Yours truly (and other local netAirspace members) got their confirmation this week and will be on board.

And it gets better: we will have a TV team on board that will make a report about our hobby, and the ramp tour.

And the airport will give away 2 tickets for a roundtrip flight with Lufthansa's Ju-52:

The winners will be announced on the bus.

Huge {thumbsup} {thumbsup} {thumbsup} for our airport. I think it's an outstanding incentive, and I am eternally grateful for the airport marketing to make such an effort to keep us spotters happy.

Let's keep the fingers crossed for good weather and interesting traffic. Pics will follow.

Nice - sounds like a great day out, and how fantastic it is to have an airport that is so considerate to aviation fans!
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

That's excellent, I suspect the DB editors are in for a busy few days in late April with the HAM crowd getting airside {thumbsup}
A million great ideas...

Awesome event! The Hamburg Airport team rocks! {thumbsup} {thumbsup} {thumbsup}

Free drinks and snacks on the bus, 2 tickets for a free Ju-52 flight (that were won by Thomas, our local videographer), a TV team onboard (report to be aired on Monday) - and we were free to leave the bus at every stop, even on the apron. {thumbsup}

The weather wasn't as good as over the last 5 days, but let's not complain - most of the interesting aircraft had at least a bit of sunlight.

So, here are my shots:

That's awesome, seems you had a great time :)) If only all airports would follow the example!
Money can't buy happiness; but it can get you flying, which is pretty much the same.

I only wish we had more consideration by authorities here about spotting. Great for Germany, not for us... {vsad}

The general support and understanding for our hobby isn't too fantastic in Germany, either. There are other airports that offer ramp tours, but usually, you do not get a chance to leave the bus. At least not on an active apron, or on the grass next to an active runway.

This is a very special incentive by Hamburg Airport, where we are blessed with people in the marketing and media department who understand us, who appreciate our photos, and who spend money and work overtime to enable such tours. {thumbsup} {thumbsup}

I can't repeat often enough how much I appreciate this. {cheerful}

Nope, you just can't repeat this enough. {thumbsup} {thumbsup}

Why the enlightened attitude?

That's still considerably better than the UK, in fact every German airport I've been to has been more welcoming towards enthusiasts than our best (probably MAN, who are really starting to get their act together).

How many of those are NAS members? I recognise one (obviously) and mhodgson c. 2004 seems to be on the far left {duck} :))

Bottom row, 4th from the left is Timo Soyke. I don't see Sven Grimpe on the photo - he was probably behind the group, taking a photo of the nice bizjet that landed while we were posing for the airport photographer... {bored}
