I Hate The Word "Couture"

No, hate is not too strong of word. I first saw its usage on the Fashion reality show. I looked it up and saw that it means "dressmaking" or "sewing". No big deal, its a french fashion world that essentially means "fashion". It has commonly been used in phrases such as "haute couture".

I have heard all sorts of fashion snobs use it recently. Guys carrying LV attache cases with their noses in the air spewing it. I have seen countless local overpriced boutiques pop up with the word Couture in the name and on its signs. Today I saw a wannabe MMA fighter walking around with a tshirt that said "Extreme Couture". That broke the straw.

Buzzwords that pop up out of nowhere irritate me. Buzzwords used my snobs bugs me even more. Buzzwords used by snobs and dumb jocks both take the cake. I hate the world Couture.

Okay. Just figured out the MMA thing is named after Randy Couture. Regardless of the double meaning, I still hate it. It actually incites my hate even more. {grumpy}

I do hate it when people take words from other languages, usually French, Italian, and use them in everyday conversation for the sole purpose of looking hip or sophisticated, i agree.
