PITCHERS AND CATCHERS REPORTED TODAY!

The Rockies are already 15 GB of the wildcard. Gonna be a long season.

{laugh} I don't think it's that bad for Colorado. Picking up Cuddyer was a great addition, and he seems to think they'll have a chance this year. Maybe it's just him trying to be positive.

Go Braves!!

With both Upton's in their lineup now, they should be an improvement from last year's collapse at the end....
Rack-em'. I'm getting a beer.

Here's to a middling season from the Champs...

It's almost a let-down knowing how difficult it'll be for them to repeat...

But then I remind myself I'm not a 'Bums fan. :))

Colorado's a Jekyll and Hyde offensive team. Great at Coors. Terrible everywhere else. Add in some shady pitching, an injury prone roster, a GM whose most recent coaching job has been HS sports, a front office that's made some crap trades, and I'm not feeling that the Rox have a run in them.

Now, if Tulo, Cargo, Fowl...o... (Damn it Dexter!), DUIMan Helton can stay healthy and if Cuddyer can produce, I'll start to feel better. Still, Rockies pitching is a basketcase.

Also, Fluffy, how many awful cross-references b/w the NHL and the MLB can we made, that don't involve Fehr?

Marlins aren't going anywhere... Again.
And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

Don't trade your best parts to the Jays. The AL East has the potential to be explosive this year.

Looking forward to another disappointing season from the Dodgers.

Well, you could make another big trade with the RedSox that never fully pans out...

What? You also have a somewhat remodeled dump stadium to play in this year, too.

Good article on Rox pitching from a game snapshot: http://www.purplerow.com/2013/2/24/4025 ... o-pitchers

Pitching stats broken down(though just looking at long-balls w/o looking at pitch counts or other hits is dumb): http://www.purplerow.com/2013/2/19/4005 ... low-places

God bless Purple Row.

You know how people move to good-weather places for retirement? That's kinda how it works for Red Sox players. They move to LA and put in a season or two with the Dodgers. Nomar, Mueller, Manny....

I don't pay much attention during the off-season, but I did read that Youkilis is a Yankee now. I thought, "hmmm", and then went back to work.

After all the BS coming out of the Sox' locker room last year, I'm not sure how much I can get into them this year. I honestly felt ashamed to be a Red Sox fan.

No Nosedive, I don't feel like that every season.

Yeah ya do, Fenway Frank. On paper the Sox are in a division that has 4 teams that can do damage, plus the Sox. It's beginning to look like the Sox and Epstein parting ways was terrible for both sides.

Also, Vik's a band-wagoner like Graphic. So he can't poast in here.

Just beginning to look like?

Well, if I can't "poast" in here, I'll settle for simply posting. And I shall do that for no other reason than just to spite you.

I'm not really a band-wagoner...There's just other stuff in my life that usually takes priority over sports. I watch when I can, and I don't when I can't. Doesn't really matter whether we're doing well or badly.

But I'm much more into football these days than baseball. And although I'm still rooting for the Sox, they've just been so embarrassing with all the not-really-game-related stuff.

Still, nothing beats actually going to a baseball game. Football is much better watched on TV.

Yea, poast.

But classic bandwagoner excuses.

Of course they are! They can't be anything else to one who calls people bandwagoners.

Even though they're not excuses....

4 teams out of the ESP-AL Least that can do damage? {laugh}

The Yanks will struggle to even keep chase in the wild card I reckon... :))

They may be old this year, not to mention they lost some talent with Swisher and Soriano both leaving, but they're not going down without a fight. They still have Cano, Youkillis (if he performs), Cano, Teixeira (maybe also was skiddish last season), and Suzuki. They have Sabathia, Kuroda and Hughes, each coming off 15+ wins as starting pitchers. It's a solid team.

Out of the 4 AL teams in question, I'd expect Baltimore to be the one that tumbles first. The O's didn't stock up like other teams did, though neither did the Yankees, really. Picking up a struggling Youkillis?

I could see those 4 all being above .500, making it a nasty division that beats on one another.

If I had to rank the AL East come September:

TB
TOR (They're stacked on paper, but can they actually come through?)
NYY
BAL
BOS

Eh, you can try, but being a band-wagoner, it won't really affect me.

So what is this Baseball of which you speak?

Is it any relation to Rounders?
