This is more of a theoretical question, as I'm not planning a camera change anytime soon (unless I see a really good deal...). But I've always wondered people's opinions, and thought it might be an interesting thread.

So, to get to the point, would you consider the following camera changes an upgrade, a downgrade, or a wash? Use whatever criteria you want, and consider all equipment in good or better condition, with at least half the shutter life left. I suppose I will restrict it to aviation photography, so it's not TOO general:

50D to 5DMkI
50D to 5DMkII
50D to 1DMkII
50D to 1DMkIII
50D to 7D

7D to 6D
7D to 5DMkII
7D to 1DMkIII

5DMkII to 6D
5DMkII to 1DMkIV

If anyone wants to add any other ones, feel free. And feel free to comment on as many or as few of the comparisons as you want. My relatively uninformed opinion (note that I'm not considering video at all):

50D to 5DMkI - wash
50D to 5DMkII - upgrade
50D to 1DMkII - downgrade
50D to 1DMkIII - tough one, maybe a wash
50D to 7D - another tough one, probably a slight upgrade

7D to 6D - upgrade, though probably not worth the price
7D to 5DMkII - wash
7D to 1DMkIII - unsure

5DMkII to 6D - also unsure
5DMkII to 1DMkIV - upgrade
