Monorails collide at Walt Disney World

Everything that would not belong anywhere else.

I would have thought that the station in front of the monorail would have to be clear prior to it starting from the station it was in. Shame it cost a life.

Jones says it is unclear what caused the crash. Orange County Sheriff's officials are investigating the cause.

Does the NTSB get involved in cases like this?
What's the point of an open door policy if inside the open door sits a closed mind?

"It's pretty shocking to hear that a driver was killed in that accident," Meus said.

The family was planning to take the train again Sunday to visit Disney's Epcot Center, but now planned to take a bus, Meus added.

"You would think it would be so safe," said 20-year-old Lauren Shoebottom, who was visiting the park from London. "You don't expect it on holiday, do you?"

One driver accidentally dies late at night and somehow it's now unsafe...give me a break. Unfortunate but don't over blow it people. {facepalm}

Fifty years and 6 or 7 lines in three parks and other than an idiot who climbed up on a track trying to sneak into Disneyland this is the first fatality as far as I know. That's pretty damn good in my book. Roughing it out, I'd estimate that they've carried more than 2 billion riders in that time.

Also, here's a picture:

I completely agree. Looks like they stood up very well, too.
