Friday stupid thread: Is today Friday for you?

Everything that would not belong anywhere else.

Yeah, I know it's only Thursday, but it's Friday for me since I'm not working tomorrow.

And for those in other countries, the 4th of July is a holiday known as Independence Day here in the US, but since it falls on Saturday this year many businesses and government agencies take the Friday before the 4th off when it falls on a Saturday.

2nd note: I think for Brits this is known as "The Big Rebellion", is that correct?

Anybody else have a day off tomorrow?

Nope, working tomorrow.

Glad we got out new IWB tuckables in so we can dispense with the jackets. Too hot to be working social events in jackets.

For me, every day of the week is just like the other. Doesn't matter what name is placed on it.

I'm off tomorrow, but have a lot of stuff not related to work to catch up with. But then, there's that Weinfest in the evening! {cheerful}

4th of July is going to be split between the "German-American Volksfest" at the barracks and a birthday party.

{thumbsup} Hell yeah. Today I've elected not to work as I got through plenty yesterday and my targets are somewhat relaxed at the moment (thank you Mr. Straw)

That said, I have been looking after my children for half of the day, which is a full time job in itself.
A million great ideas...

Ever since I was 16 years old, I've worked in health care and public safety. There's no such thing as a weekend. The same type and level of service is expected seven days a week. Why would I care what day of the week it is when my work schedule is 4 on/2 off regardless of what "normal" people call their work/leisure days? Sometimes my "weekend" is a Tueday and Wednesday. Occasionally, it happens to be Saturday and Sunday.

Actually, I don't like having weekend days off. The repair shops and other businesses I want to visit are closed and the malls are swamped with ditzy people. It's much nicer to to have weekdays off.

Oddly enough I am off tommorow. I do not get Xmas eve/New Years Eve off nor do I get any other days around Thanksgiving off, I have no idea why they are giving the sales people the day off, but I'm not complaining. I'm still getting paid and whatnot.

Now I'm excited for my trip, SFO-LAX-RAR on Sunday. I haven't had more than a 3 day weekend since last July. I'm ready for a break.

Actually, no. It's my Saturday.

And tomorrow (morning/afternoon) is my Sunday.

My Monday starts (your) Friday night at 11pm. {tired}

Nope.. The pest control business will be at full staffing Friday and Saturday nights hunting for people having too much fun.

Like Mark, every day for me is no different than the next. Being out of work sucks. The past several days, however, have been very busy. Yesterday I had to tell my self it was Wednesday, even though it felt like Thursday. Today, it felt like Wednesday. I also keep thinking that the 4th of July is tomorrow (which would be Friday) when it is in fact Saturday.

I don't know. I was doing annoying calls from 0300-~2300 thanks to missing people.

Mark is very correct about the healthcare industry. {check}
