Everything that would not belong anywhere else.

The worst part is I think the C.M. is the newest boat in the fleet, yet they seem to have the most MX issues...

Deadliest Catch is a bit of a cult institution in the UK. I know of a group of Discovery channel enthusiasts who record the entire series then have a beer-fuelled Deadliest Catch marathon, betting on things like how many 'hell yeahs' there will be and which boat isn't coming back this time {sarcastic}

For a proper fishing show, look out for Robson Green's Extreme Fishing - ponsey Geordie actor vs massive fish, hilarious {thumbsup}
A million great ideas...

I like Deadliest Catch and I like Dirty Jobs just as much, but I can't stand Cash Cab. Unfortunately, I can't watch DC regularly, and my greatest sadness is that Survivorman is gone. {sigh}

I enjoy deadliest catch - there is something to be said for watching them put in 48 hour days in sub-zero tempaeratures while sitting in a nice warm house with a mug of tea in hand :))
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Lucas, I cant believe you'd fall for that show. You know, 50% of what he does is staged and the other 50% is just bad advice, like crawling through openings in the foot of glaciers to cross terrain in Alaska. {boggled}
Slider... <sniff, sniff>... you stink.

I think you're confusing Survivorman with Man vs Wild.

Man vs Wild is for retards.

Survivorman is both amusing and relaxing to watch.

And yes, I've spent plenty of time stuck in the wild, and no, I've never needed SAR to get me out. :))

OK, maybe you're right. I watched one of them a couple of times and couldn't make it through the whole episode because it make me mad that he was misguiding people.

The one with the British guy pisses me off and I can't watch a full episode of his crap. And people believe him, too. Almost 100% of the crap he does is a quick way to cleanse yourself from the gene pool, such as diving off high cliffs into cold water and saying that it saves time and you might find a hot spring to warm you up later.

Unfortunately, they canceled the one with the Canadian and kept the one with the Briton. Canadian was getting tired of doing it, anyway, and I remember him saying that at his age, there were only "so many times you can go seven days without food."

Hey, speaking of that, do Canadians also invade the waters off AK to go crabbing ("Actually, they are not really crabs"...what famous person said that?)?

Now their boats have a propensity for forgetting where the lot line is in Dixon Enterance.

That and BC's salmon management sucks and they want to make up for by penalizing SE Alaska fishermen.

Yeah, the gawddamn Canucks have lost their minds in Southeast Alaska. Even blockeaded a Ferry some years ago in Prince Rupert. I'd have sailed the ship anyway, horn blazin', but well . . . . panty waisted Governor wouldn't let them.

Alaska bled their asses though, cut off Ferry Traffic and BC . . .especially Prince Rupert . . starts to bleed. They did, we won, fuck Canada.
LET'S GO BRANDON!!!!

They blockaded you guys? WTF is that about? And it says it was because they were jealous. That's about the lamest of lame things to do...guess they didn't learn anything about good sportsmanship in T-ball.

Thanks L188 and ANC. I'd heard rumors and imagined they might be true, but I didn't expect anything like that. {crazy}

I wish the feds would shut them out of our fisheries. They come here, steal the crab and then leave nothing for the people here. All the profits head south.

It's been that way for over a hundred years, sadly - Seattle gets fat gouging residents of Alaska.

Yeah, and a lot of it is because Providence hospital in ANC just acts like a MASH unit for the people of Alaska and sends anything worse than an ankle sprain down to Seattle where the victim and his family have to shell out big bucks to get there and pay for hotel rooms and eats. I think Providence is in cahoots with the Seattle medical community.

And to bring this back around to the topic, just look at what happened to Phil on DC. First thing they did was ship him to Seattle for treatment. Pathetic for a hospital in a city the size of ANC to be doing that.

That is rather odd. Is it that they can't get qualified doctors / surgeons to work in Alaska?

Well, for a time in the 1980's, the only surgeon on Kodiak was a barely competent alcoholic. We sent all our potential surgical cases to Elmendorf AFB. If a woman was pregnant and wanted it, the CG would arrange for billeting at Elmendorf for the last trimester if a caesarian was even possible.

Harborview in Seattle is the regional Level I trauma center. Alaska does not have a level I trauma center. Many of my patients go to SEA because it is the closest Level I.

Level I – Regional Resource Center – Level I Trauma Centers generally serve large cities or population-dense areas. A Level I Trauma Center is responsible for providing leadership in research, professional and community education. There are no Level I Trauma Centers in Alaska because, there are no trauma research and teaching facilities in Alaska.

Your doctors may be sending away patients that they could deal with, in which case it's a doctor problem, or maybe a staffing problem.

In either case, it sucks that you guys are getting raped like that.
