So...

At CYXU there are a few approved spots..

1. Crumlin Road next to the RCAF 427 Wing Building there is a small concrete road and a grass area before the fence, this is for watching planes coming into Runway 27/9. You can also get shots of planes from 15/33 but there's a fence and you need a longer length lens. There are ample places around here on old roads, anywhere will do...with no risk of being asked to move!

2. Katana Kafe, inside here is great viewing spot of the landings on 15/33. There's an outside patio that allows you to hear the sound and rumble of whatever is taking off. Its located at Blair Blvd inside the Diamond Flight Center (shorter building).

3. Creamery Rd, Down here is one of the best places to watch airplanes land and takeoff. Its quiet and spacious and can be quite active sometimes, but most its quite dead with activity. **** Mind you there are some farming landowners that need to use it with their tractors, and combines so please use caution whenever you are there.

4. On Rebecca/Evelyn Rd. This is a road that is accessed by using Robins Hill Road. its great for watching activity on runway 27. Dash 8s use this as much as possible, though snowbirds do use this from time to time as well as the average GA airplane.

And last, on Robins Hill Road, Forest City Golf Club Entrance Rd as well as in the parking lot are great spots to watch aircraft like WestJet, Sunwing or whatever is arriving runway 15. My favorite spot to watch planes is here at Robins Hill Rd. Secondary is the Creamery Rd one.

Hope you enjoy
