I finally found it! The overhead music at work is Sixties on 6 on XM radio. I thought I'd heard every 1960's song over the years, but I didn't know this one. What I found intriguing are the backing vocals.... the lady sings like Stevie Nicks, but it couldn't be her because Nicks wasn't recording in 1969. It turns out that it's Linda Scott singing backing vocals.

Here's the remake of Gorillaz' Feel Good Inc. It's had over 4 million views in the last few hours. It was released this morning. The technical classification of this type of music is "alternative hiphop."

My favorite Bob Dylan song. Years ago, I called a radio station to dedicate it to my former future wife. They did it.

I'm rediscovering Junior Brown. He normally does country music, but this is how you hook the masses.

The Seekers were Australia's best-known entry into the globalization of rock and roll in the 1960's. This was one of my mom's favorite songs. She played it over and over. Fifty-four years later, the group is still together.

The Beatles didn't do many live recordings after they ended touring. I'm surprised that I didn't know about this one until now.

If all these casting show "talents" these days make people go wow, I wonder what they'd say to the voice of Freddie Mercury, isolated from the music of the band.

Simon Cowell would probably have told him to GTFO.

Currently on the bus, waiting at a stop, and we're all listening to Whitney Houston on the driver's radio. I wanna dance with somebody... Driver is tapping his feet to the beat. The bus is leaning over (for disabled/baby-buggy access) and back again in time to the music. I'm not sure he's even aware that he's doing it...

Sounds surprisingly non-horrible, although I can't help feeling that my un-addled brain is missing out on something really cool.
