When do y'all think they may (or may not) start postponing games or baring fans from rink or court-side seats?

The entire Fort Worth school district has been shut down until at least May 11 and the Texas University Interscholastic League has canceled ALL scholastic meets and events in the State of Texas, including sporting and academic meets, until the same date.

It's crazy. I feel sure that pro sports won't be far behind.

It's not like this is any more contagious than influenza A. Hell, Henrik Zetterberg, one of the star forwards on the Detroit Red Wings, had the flu this week. The coach, when asked about the swine flu, said, "Uh, I think it's the flu, Hank thinks it's the flu, regardless, he said he's coming back tomorrow and practicing with the team, and team's fine with it."

OMG PIG LFU! Er...flu.

Its already been suggested that the Spanish Formula One Grand Prix next month may be the first GP to be held behind closed doors so to speak. Apparently the area around Barcelona has seen a number of the suspected cases, and as with parts of the US, Spain is one of the areas most likely to be hardest hit due to the big Mexican connection. So the GP may yet go ahead with no crowd.

Wow.. Way to piss off the fans.. Any idea what they will do for the people who bought tickets?

A refund would make sense.. But it's the FIA so you have to ask.

no idea - but its only been suggested at the moment. But if they did, you're talknig 70,000 fans plus on race day - plus fans for the previous days. Many would not be local fans either as it is a popular event for fans from other parts of Europe to attend, so its more than just the race costs...

Scientists see this flu as relatively mild. In fact, no worse than an average winter-time flu.

Down here in Central America, CONCACAF has cancelled the rest of the U-17 World Cup Qualifiers, moved the CONCACAF Champions League final second leg to May, and no word as to whether FIFA will postpone the Qualifiers and CONCACAF postpones or cancels the Gold Cup. Also, FIBA has decided to move the Central American U-16 Championship to a different venue (it was scheduled in Mexico). Other sports events were cancelled in Mexico, in Costa Rica the upcoming matchday appears to have been suspended or will be held behind close doors.

Down in South America, Boca Juniors has stated that they refuse to play in Mexico, and COMNEBOL has decided to move all Copa Libertadores matches that have as venue Mexico to Colombia. As for Europe, it's so far business as usual.
