Word on the street is, BA's A380s are coming back in November and will be operating LHR-FRA and LHR-MAD for crew re-familiarisation.

Anyone up for that?
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

Do we have any more info on the dates ? That is damn tempting {blush}

From OMAAT, this is the best I've got at the moment:

In November, British Airways will operate the A380 on short haul routes for crew familiarization purposes. I don’t yet see these flights loaded into the schedule, but rumor has it that British Airways will begin operating the A380 temporarily on the following routes as of November 8, 2021 (again, this remains subject to change, and hasn’t been publicly confirmed by the airline):

From London to Frankfurt (FRA) in the mornings
From London to Madrid (MAD) in the afternoons

I just had a random stab around on ba.com, and couldn't find any A380 yet (the only widebodies being IB's A330/350 on the MAD run, which might make for a nice option the other way!).

I'd be interested as I'm off that week - but if the US opens up to vaccinated travellers may also be trying to head over there (but I still haven't seen a date for it)

Nothing in GDSs yet.

Would love to but it's our busiest time of the year. No time off from last week until mid-December as we work our way through all the insurance surveys for the armada heading West as the hurricane season ends.
A million great ideas...

I'm off on 11-12 NOV, could be a great opportunity to be back in the air...

Also potentially available those days!

Also available those days at the moment. Knowing what November looks like, I'm all about the MAD.

I have booked to go to MAD - earlier than originally planned due to the anticipated birth of my niece! Flying out on the 8th Nov (A380), returning on the 11th (A359 IB).

Nice one! I'm trying to make the 10th, but still not quite got everything in place (other than a whole load of appointments on the 9th that can't be cancelled).

What are the Covid rules for entering Spain at the moment?

From what I could tell, and assuming the rules are the same for Finland as a starting point - if you have a double vaccination, you need proof of it but there are no other requirements. If you haven't been fully vaccinated, a negative PCR test is needed.

For returning to the UK, no PCR test is required but you need to do a lateral flow two days after returning, but of course can't use any of the free flow tests being handed out {sarcastic}
