I post this in Social as I hope they will do a special event like they did for the MD-11 a few years ago...

So, it's the last year if you want to fly on a KLM 747, the last flight has been scheduled for 03 JAN 2021 {cry}

Granted, the interiors of the KLM 747s are relatively dated, and even business class isn’t up to the latest standards. The Boeing 787s that are taking the 747’s place on many KLM flights are a far better option in terms of seat comfort and amenities.

Oh really ? I'll gladly take a dated 747 over a 787 any day !!

Word!!

I'm flying AMS-JFK tomorrow, on a 772. I wouldn't mind if that would be replaced by a 744.

On the way back, I'd even pay for it. 789 {yuck}

This makes me sad. I've never been on a 747. :(

My first 747 trip was on August 5, 1988 from LHR to JFK on a Pan Am aircraft named Maiden of the Seas. Go figure.

February 5th, 1986, LHR-MIA, also Pan Am. Couldn't tell you which one, though.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

My first 747 flight was on Singapore Airlines FRA-JFK.

And I never forget flying the KLM 747 to SXM and back. Booked the MD11 flight to SXM and got the 747 as replacement.
