SpaceX Falcon 9 was launched from Vandenberg yesterday evening at 7:21 PM local time. This is literally perfect timing, because with sunset around 6:30, the sky is dark but the launch gets backlit by the sun pretty quickly, creating a very spectacular show above Southern California, even with the copious light pollution.
Shoutout to our cashier at Trader Joe's, who told us about the launch around 6 PM. I would have totally missed it otherwise.
