After having to deal with the Trump administration and reducing the price of both aircraft, evidently Boeing sees the wind blowing the other way and figures why not get while the gettings good?

Boeing Co (BA.N) has told the Air Force the price of the next-generation presidential aircraft could go up, and asked for more time to deliver the flying White House citing difficulties with COVID-19 and a subcontractor, an Air Force official said on Tuesday.

Anyone surprised?
What's the point of an open door policy if inside the open door sits a closed mind?

Nope. Regardless of who is in office, the price was bound to go up. It always does on government contracts. Always.
Make Orwell fiction again.

What isn't mentioned, or more likely what Boeing aren't allowed to mention, is what mods/changes to the programme have been made that have contributed to the price increase. There is simply no way a new administration would come in and just accept a new transport aircraft specified by the previous administration.

The stripper pole and burger bar have definitely been replaced by an orthopaedic chair and a table for jigsaw puzzles ;)

Just a minute while I clean up the coffee I spit out! {laugh} {laugh} {laugh}

Or it could be the cost of having to buy a bunch of new paint....
