And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

From the linked article:
A WC-130 military plane crashed and burst into flames Wednesday shortly after takeoff at a Georgia airport, killing all five people aboard, the Georgia Air National Guard said.

There's security footage available showing the whole crash sequence. Very typical stall departure with rotation around the port wing. Guys never stood a chance. Rumor is that there was an engine out.

The footage is horrible, those poor people knew their time was up several seconds before the end.

Question: Are ANG aircraft wholly staffed by reservists or are there some full-time crew?
A million great ideas...

Both but generally all Air National Guard . . . some are part-timers, some are full time National Guard.

RIP to all who perished. {vsad} It seems that the plane was being flown to retirement, and the reported fatality count has sadly risen to 9.
