1959: At the airshow to celebrate the opening of Wellington's new airport, a Vulcan, a Sunderland, and an entire aerobatic display team each came within inches of disaster. A good time was had by all.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

That first clip of the Sunderland pass, I thought, "That's a bit brave..." As for the Vulcan {bugeye} They built 'em tough back then.

That was a great watch. I love how calm those old boys are about it all, you get the feeling they have many more stories to tell.
