“We disagree with ISS’ recommendation against the Frontier-Spirit merger, which we continue to believe is in the best interest of Spirit stockholders. ISS appears overfocused on the absence of a reverse termination fee in that deal, and we have consistently maintained (as ISS also acknowledges) that the JetBlue proposal carries significantly greater regulatory obstacles, and JetBlue absolutely should pay Spirit stockholders more to compensate for that risk,” said Ted Christie, President and CEO of Spirit.

The new addition to Lufthansa’s (LHAB) (LHA) fleet, registered D-ABPA and which will be officially named ‘Berlin’, is expected to arrive at the airline’s maintenance facility in Frankfurt in Germany in the second half of 2022.
Deliveries of the Dreamliner are curently suspended over manufacturing issues. Lufthansa (LHAB) (LHA), which has ordered 32 of the aircraft type, said it expected its first delivery following certification from the Federal Aviation Administration.
LinkComair fails to secure funding, suspends flights African airline Comair, which has been operating British Airways and Kukula.com flights across Africa, announced it suspended all flights after failing to secure additional funding.
News regarding the flight suspension arose on May 31, 2022, after the ticket sales of British Airways and Kukula.com flights operated by Comair were suspended. Comair explained that it ran out of funds and failed to secure further investment.
“We deeply regret the inconvenience this suspension will cause our customers,” Comair chief executive Glenn Orsmond was cited in the airline’s statement. “We did everything we could to avoid it. Comair, the BRPs, and the lenders are working all out to get the funding in place so that we can resume our normal flight schedule as soon as possible.”
LinkJetBlue postpones launch of Boston-London routes over A321LR delays Low-cost airline JetBlue (JBLU) delayed the launch of its flights between Boston and London, citing aircraft delivery delays, but said it is committed to starting the flights over the key summer period.
The US carrier, which is hoping to bring more competition on the transatlantic routes, now plans to start flights between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and London Gatwick (LGW) on August 4, 2022, while flights between BOS and London Heathrow (LHR) will begin on September 20, 2022. The airline had initially planned to start the BOS routes on July 19 and August 22.
JetBlue (JBLU) said the postponement was down to unexpected production delays at Airbus, which makes the A321LR aircraft it needs for the longer transatlantic routes from BOS. Customers will be offered to switch to flights from New York or offered refunds.
