GE Aviation completes testing of Global 8000 business jet engine using 100% SAF
American aerospace engineering manufacturer GE Aviation announced has completed testing of its Passport long-range business jet engine using 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
According to the manufacturer, ground testing was conducted at GE Aviation’s Peebles Test Operations facility in Ohio, in the United States, where the company assessed engine performance and operability while fueled with 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
Results of the recent testing proved that the new generation turbofan engine is capable of running on lower-carbon alternative jet fuels, made from cooking oil and other waste fats, oils, and greases. GE Aviation believes that business jets powered with the Passport engine can help customers to meet their sustainability goals and reduce CO2 emissions in flight.

Welcome to Luton! YouTuber plays prank on Gatwick passengers
It’s always nice to land at the airport that you bought a ticket for. But if you’re flying to London Gatwick (LGW) over the next few weeks, you may be surprised to find a sign proclaiming “Welcome to Luton” as your plane comes in to land.
The words are laid out in giant white tarpaulin letters on a field near the busy London airport and have prompted confusion on social media, but also appreciation for the humorous stunt. LGW is about a 70-mile (112 kilometer) drive from London Luton (LTN).
The stunt has been claimed by 27-year-old comedian and YouTuber Max Fosh, who describes his video work as “silly little movies”.

Brazil wants to cut Embraer KC-390 order further to 15 aircraft: report
Brazil is planning to reduce its order for KC-390 transport aircraft over budget uncertainties, according to a report in O Globo citing an Air Force official.
The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has decided to cut the order to 15 aircraft, down from 22, Lieutenant Brigadier General Carlos de Almeida Baptista Junior told the paper.
“We can’t afford it in the short-term,” O Globo quoted the Lieutenant-Brigadier General as saying.
The Brazilian Air Force had previously tried to cut the order to 15 aircraft, down from an initial 28, but reached a deal with Embraer in February 2022 to slim the order to 22 aircraft and space deliveries over a longer period of time.
