Passengers claim Ryanair flight left Toulouse without them
About 50 passengers claim they were left behind in Toulouse by Ryanair after their flight left early.
On June 19, 2021, the Ryanair flight FR3551 operated by the Boeing 737-800 registered as EI-DPK from Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) in France to Fès-Saïss Airport (FEZ) in Morocco was supposed to take off at 7:25 am and arrive at the destination at 8:30 am, local time.

Hawaiian Airlines to resume Tahiti service
Hawaiian Airlines has announced the resumption of its Tahiti service following the launch of a pre-travel testing program between Hawaiʻi and French Polynesia that allows for quarantine-free travel within the two archipelagos. Beginning Aug. 7, Hawaiian will reinstate once-weekly nonstop flying between Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) and Tahiti’s Fa’a’ā International Airport (PPT), utilizing its 278-seat Airbus A330 aircraft.

Pakistan International Airlines to add two A320s
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) entered an agreement for two A320-200 aircraft, Irish aviation asset management company Seraph Aviation Group announced on June 21, 2021. The aircraft are expected to be delivered to the Pakistani airline in July and August 2021.
Seraph Aviation Group also revealed the deal is part of PIA’s open tender for eight A320s, for which the air carrier received nearly 130 bids.

Air France-KLM CEO sees business travel return despite low demand
Air France-KLM Group chief executive officer Ben Smith said he believed that business travel would return despite decreased demand and changes in the business travel market.
“I’m very confident that business travel, however you define it, will return to the same levels that we had in 2019 and will return to growth in a short or medium term,” Smith said while talking at Paris Air Forum on June 21, 2021.

Wizz Air anticipates full recovery in 2022
On June 21, 2021, European low-cost airline Wizz Air chief executive said that the airline expected full recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022. Hopes for air travel recovery come as countries are gradually easing travel restrictions amid accelerated vaccination rates.
"From my perspective, 2022 should be a fairly robust year in terms of delivering not just the volume of traffic but also the financial performance attached to it," CEO of Wizz Air, Jozsef Varadi said while speaking at the Paris Air Forum. "I'm looking at 2022 as a year of full recovery for Wizz Air."

American Airlines to cut 1% of July operations amid labor shortage
American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) is planning to cut 1% of July 2021 operations ahead of the summer schedule peak. The move comes as the airline is struggling to handle summer travel rebound.
"That, combined with the labor shortages some of our vendors are contending with and the incredibly quick ramp up of customer demand, has led us to build in additional resilience and certainty to our operation by adjusting a fraction of our scheduled flying through mid-July. We made targeted changes with the goal of impacting the fewest number of customers by adjusting flights in markets where we have multiple options for re-accommodation," American Airlines (AAL) spokesperson told AeroTime News on June 21, 2021.

Lufthansa Group’s start up airline reveals strategic plans
The Lufthansa Group's newest subsidiary airline Eurowings Discover has announced the date and route for the launch of operations and shared its plans on the next strategic moves.
Having received an Air Operator Certificate from the German Federal Aviation Authority on June 16, 2021, the new airline also set up a date for the inaugural flight from its home base in Frankfurt am Main Airport (FRA). According to the Eurowings Discover statement, the airline will take off for the first time on July 24, 2021, on route to Mombasa, Kenya with onward service to Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Glasgow Airport’s team of volunteer community first responders have been recognised for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic response.
Paul Scott, Kevin McGuire, Steven Mitchell, Douglas McShane, Jeanette Paton, Jennifer Mulligan, Philip Gillespie and Katy Gracey were presented with a commemorative coin from the Scottish Ambulance Service for outstanding dedication and care.

Hamad International Airport (DOH) has announced a joint research partnership with Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Science and Engineering (CSE) to enhance passenger services. The first-of-its-kind research partnership in Qatar will utilise HBKU’s College of Science and Engineering’s Visual Analytics and Dynamic Graph research techniques to identify ways to enhance the passenger airport experience.

USAF prepares next stage of tanker fleet modernization with KC-Y tender
The modernization of the US Air Force tanker fleet is about to enter a new phase, called the KC-Y program. On June 16, 2021, the Bridge Tanker Program Office of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center issued a Sources Sought Notice for manufacturers to provide “approximately 140-160 Commercial Derivative Tanker Aircraft—at a rate of 12 to 15 per year.”
