Gulfstream G-150 ran off the runway at Ridgeland Airport
A Gulfstream G-150 jet ran off the runway and stopped in the wetlands at Ridgeland-Claude Dean Airport on Wednesday.
The 11 seater jet suffered the runway excursion after it suffered a brake malfunction. The jet was lifted by a large crane and relocated away from the runway.

UNI Air ATR-72 makes emergency landing after double tire rupture
A UNI Air ATR 72-600 aircraft suffered double wheel bursts, forcing the aircraft to make an emergency landing back at its departure destination, Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA), in Taiwan.
The UNI Air ATR 72-600 aircraft, registered as B-17010, departed from Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA) towards Matsu Nangan Airport (LZN), Taiwan. As it approached LZN airport, the pilot noticed that two tires were damaged and decided to turn the aircraft back to Taipei where it made an emergency landing.

Government to oppose cash injection into Thai Airways?
The Thai government is reportedly opposing cash injection into the cash-strapped Thai Airways. The State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) chief said the Thai government would not back the ailing flag carrier in the recapitalization process before the creditors’ meeting, which decides the fate of the approval of the airline's rehabilitation plan.

Guanacaste Airport achieves Level 2 ‘Reduction’ in ACI airport carbon programme
Costa Rica’s Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) – also known as Guanacaste Airport, which has been a member of the VINCI Airports network since 2018 – has entered Airports Council International’s (ACI) Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme by reaching Level 2 ‘Reduction’ for its actions in favour of the environment. ACA is the only global, airport-specific programme that certifies airports’ efforts to manage and reduce its carbon emissions.

USAF deploys assets to cover Afghanistan troop withdrawal
Announced by US President Joe Biden in April 2021, the withdrawal of coalition troops from Afghanistan began on May 1, 2021, and should continue until September of the same year.
Along with US soldiers, British, Belgian, Turkish, and Australian service members are being evacuated.
