Researcher claims the flight MH370 followed a complex path before vanishing
On March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared with 239 people on board in what was suspected to be a crash somewhere in the southern Indian Ocean. The accident, which led to a multinational search party, left no traces of the aircraft. However 33 pieces of debris – suspected to be from flight MH370 – were claimed to be discovered on the coasts of Mauritius, Madagascar, Tanzania, and South Africa.

Lufthansa Embraer ERJ-190 suffers a lightning strike in Frankfurt
The German air carrier Lufthansa Embraer ERJ-190 aircraft suffered a lightning strike when landing at Frankfurt Airport (FRA), Germany.
The incident occurred on May 5, 2021, when the Embraer ERJ-190, registered as D-AECE, was performing an international flight from Marseille, France, to Frankfurt, Germany. The aircraft took off from Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) at 10.38 a.m. (UTC) for flight LH-1087 to Frankfurt Airport (FRA).

Delta became the last major airline to resume selling middle seats
Delta Air Lines has resumed selling middle seat blocks on Saturday, becoming the last major U.S. air carrier to unblock the middle seats.
Delta’s CEO Ed Bastian announced in late March that the middle seats would be reopened in all cabin classes on every aircraft on May 1.

FedEx becomes Official Sponsor of the UEFA Champions League, celebrates the 100th Boeing 767
FedEx Corporation and UEFA have signed a three-year agreement in which FedEx will sponsor the UEFA Champions League commencing at the start of the 2021/22 tournament and extending for three editions through to 2023/24. The agreement also includes sponsorship rights for the UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Youth League finals, the UEFA Champions League Futsal finals and UEFA eChampions League.

Stobart Air to add two new routes from Exeter to Dublin and Newquay Cornwall to Belfast
Stobart Air, operator of Aer Lingus Regional routes, has today (Tuesday, 20 April) added two new routes to its network, connecting England’s southwestern coast with the island of Ireland.
The new Exeter Airport (EXT) to Dublin Airport (DUB) route will initially operate four times weekly, on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, commencing on August 30, 2021.

The gateway to the Turkish Riviera, Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV), has announced that it has obtained Level 1 ‘Mapping’ in the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme. It is the sixth airport in TAV Airports’ portfolio to receive ACA certification, the only institutionally-endorsed, global carbon management programme for airports.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is innovating with seamless, touchless travel in order to improve ease and wellness at the airport.
Two pilot programmes are testing ways to modernise the passenger experience: ‘SEA Spot Saver’, which explores digital reservations for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) general screening security checkpoints; and happyhover™, a technology deployed to airline check-in kiosks for travellers to check in and drop off luggage without touching the electronic screens.

Blue Origin opens bids to the first passenger on its first space tourism flight
An American privately-funded aerospace company Blue Origin plans to conduct its first space tourism trip on its New Shepard spacecraft in July 2021. The company has opened bids for a single passenger’s seat on the flight.
According to the statement, released on May 5, 2021, Blue Origin aims to fly its first astronaut crew to space on July 20, 2021. The company offers to bid for a single seat its rocket capsule named as New Shepard and take off for its first space trip.
