47 Passengers COVID positive on arrival despite they had all tested negative before boarding
A total of 47 passengers who flew on the Vistara flight to Hong Kong had tested positive for COVID, many during their mandatory quarantine period.
These passengers flew on Vistara’s flight from Delhi to Hong Kong on April 4. However, they had all tested negative before boarding.

The body of a man has been discovered in landing gear of plane at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
Police are investigating after the body of a man was found underneath a plane that had landed at Amsterdam airport from Nigeria.
The man is thought to have died of hypothermia after the near seven hour flight from Nigeria to the Netherlands.

Colombia denounces airspace violation by Russian aircraft
The Colombian government sent a formal protest to Moscow after a Russian transport aircraft deviated from its authorized flight path within Colombia’s airspace. The incident took place on April 19, 2021, when an Ilyushin Il-96-400 VPU transport aircraft, on its way from Moscow, Russia, to Managua, Nicaragua, entered the Colombian airspace.

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise orders 15 Boeing 737 MAX jets
Boeing and Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) have announced the aircraft lessor is growing its 737 MAX portfolio with an order for 15 737-8 jets. DAE had been investing in the 737 MAX by buying jets from existing customers and leasing them back to the carriers. The new order is DAE’s first direct 737 MAX purchase from Boeing as it modernizes its portfolio for better economic and environmental performance.

Etihad Airways trials the IATA Travel Pass on flights to North America
Etihad Airways has made this announcement:
Guests traveling with Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, from now until 31 May from Abu Dhabi to Chicago, New York, Washington and Toronto, will be the first to trial the IATA Travel Pass app to easily manage their travel health credentials.

Bees Airline, a new airline from Ukraine
Bees Airline (Kiev) is a new Ukrainian charter airline, which commenced operations in March 2021 with two Boeing 737-800s (UR-UBA and UR-UBB).
The new airline has been operating low cost flights from the Ukraine to Egypt, Georgia and Kenya.

S7 Airlines to launch Moscow – Casablanca flights
S7 Airlines will operate weekly flights from Moscow to Casablanca (Morocco). Flights will begin operating on April 30, 2021.
From May 9, flights will be operated on Sundays. Departure from Domodedovo airport is at 12:10 p.m., arrival at Casablanca airport is at 03:20 p.m. local time. The return flight departs at 05:20 p.m. and lands in Moscow at 01:10 the next day.

Qatar Airways becomes the first global carrier to operate Honeywell’s Ultraviolet (UV) Cabin System version 2.0, further advancing its hygiene measures on board.
The latest version of the Honeywell UV Cabin System that is owned and operated by Qatar Aviation Services (QAS), has been introduced to add flexibility, improve reliability, mobility and ease of use compared to its predecessor, with extended UV wings that treat both narrow and wide areas on board, reducing the overall disinfection time.

JetBlue gets green light for transatlantic flights, UK CAA confirms
JetBlue (JBLU) received regulatory approval from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) for transatlantic flights, the authority confirmed on April 19, 2020. The permit will allow the US-based airline to operate transatlantic routes between London, New York, and Boston.
