Cargo pallet full of smartphones caught fire at Hong Kong Airport
On 11th April, a pallet full of smartphones caught fire in a parking lot at Chek Lap Kok Hong Kong International Airport.
At around 5 am this morning, the fire broke out near stand 452. The firefighters arrived at the scene, and the fire was put out about 40 minutes later.

British Airways #BA277 was forced to return to Heathrow after suspected open door
The British Airways #BA277 to Hyderabad entered a holding pattern after departure from London Heathrow at 6,000 feet.
The crew reported to ATC that aircraft systems indicated the rear cargo door was open.

Boeing warns about a possible electrical issue in some 737 MAX aircraft
Boeing has told 16 of its customers to address a possible electrical issue in group of 737 MAX aircraft before using them further.
Boeing said Friday that the recommendation was made “to allow for verification that a sufficient ground path exists for a component of the electrical power system.” It did not specify how many aircraft could be involved.

LATAM Brazil confirms the immediate retirement of all 11 Airbus A350s
In a statement sent to employees on Thursday, LATAM Airlines CEO Jerome Cadier said:
“Among these decisions, one is the restructuration of our widebody fleet in Brazil. Therefore, today we announce that seven aircraft A350 are leaving our LATAM Brazil fleet immediately; next week, another four will go as well.”

Qatar Airways operated the World’s first fully COVID-19 vaccinated flight on Tuesday, April 6, from Doha on board an Airbus A350-1000.
The Airbus A350-1000, with registration A7-ANF, departed Hamad International Airport as flight QR6421 with 144 vaccinated passengers and 18 crew members.

America’s new Avelo Airlines to debut in Hollywood
Counting the last days until its Hollywood debut, the newest US airline Avelo Airlines, will try to conquer the American domestic air travel market starting with the West Coast.
Avelo Airlines plans to launch its debut flight from Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) to Santa Rosa Airport (STS) on April 28, 2021. It will begin operations with single-class 189-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Currently, the carrier owns three narrow-body Boeing 737-800s.

New “Putin Force One” successfully performs maiden flight
A modernized and heavily modified Ilyushin Il-96-300 set to become one of Russia’s presidential aircraft performed its maiden flight on April 9, 2021. The plane was assembled at the Voronezh Aviation Plant. It will undergo factory tests before entering service.


South Korea rolls out its very own fifth-generation fighter jet, KF-21
South Korean President Moon Jae-in unveiled the country’s first domestically developed fighter, the KF-21 Boramae fifth-generation fighter jet, birthed from the KF-X program. The aircraft will eventually replace the aging fleet of South Korean F-4 Phantom II and F-5 Tiger fighters.
