Emirates to resume transatlantic flight between Milan and New York
Emirates announced service would resume between Milan Malpensa (MXP) and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) from June 1, 2021.
The Milan-New York JFK flight will be an extension to Emirates’ existing flight EK205 from Dubai to Milan, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER.

Asiana Airlines brand to disappear after merger with Korean Air

Alaska Airlines firms its 120 Boeing 737 MAX order
Alaska Airlines announced the addition of 23 737-9 MAX aircraft to its Boeing order on March 30, 2021. The added aircraft supplement the airline’s initial commitment in December 2020. The agreement also includes purchase options for an additional 15 MAX planes.

Shenyang Aircraft Corporation announced the development of a carrier-based 5th generation fighter jet would be accelerated in 2021, Global Times reports.
Currently, the sole Chinese fighter able to operate from an aircraft carrier is the Shenyang J-15 “Flying Shark”.

Russia resumes Ilyushin Il-112V testing after 2-year break
The Ilyushin Il-112V light tactical transport aircraft successfully completed its second flight test at the Voronezh Aviation Plant aerodrome on March 30, 2021. “During the flight, the operating modes of the power plant, the stability and controllability of the aircraft, and the operation of its main systems were checked,” reported United Aircraft Corporation. “According to the crew, the flight mission was successfully completed.”
