ANA Boeing 777 suffers in-flight engine shut down, diverts to Vancouver
An All Nippon Airways (ANA) Boeing 777 was forced to divert to Vancouver, Canada, after suffering an in-flight engine shutdown while performing an international flight from Tokyo, Japan, to Los Angeles, US.
The incident occurred on March 27, 2021, when ANA Boeing 777-300, registered as JA788A, was performing a regular scheduled flight NH-106 from Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Rolls-Royce, the British engineering giant, started building the UltraFan, the largest aero engine in the world.
Rolls-Royce announced that the company started building the UltraFan demonstrator at its DemoWorks facility in Derby, the United Kingdom.

Boeing delivers first 787 Dreamliner after 5 months hiatus
With its delivery of a 787 Dreamliner to United Airlines, Boeing ended a five months hiatus of the aircraft type deliveries. The 787-9 flew from Charleston, South Carolina.
“Today, we resumed 787 deliveries following several months of rigorous engineering analysis, inspection, and as-needed rework to ensure that every airplane we deliver meets all regulatory requirements,” said Lane Ballard, general manager of the Dreamliner program, on March 26, 2021. United expects another Dreamliner on March 29, 2021.

Southwest Airlines announced today the completion of its previously disclosed discussions with The Boeing Company (Boeing) regarding the restructuring of its delivery schedule for MAX aircraft. The Company has completed the multi-year evaluation of the successor aircraft to its Boeing 737-700 model, with the selection of the Boeing 737 MAX 7 aircraft.

United returns to New York JFK with coast-to-coast Boeing 767-300 flights
United Airlines is back at John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK), now operating direct service to the airline’s West Coast hubs – Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) from New York City. The airline will use its Boeing 767-300ER aircraft which features 46 business class all-aisle-access seating, and 22 United Premium Plus® seats.

Pilot Training Backlog Could Slow Anticipated Recovery at American Airlines
American Airlines is gearing up for what could be a busy summer travel season in the U.S. by getting many of its jets that remain in storage ready to fly again by June.
The Fort Worth, Texas-based carrier aims to “reactivate most” of its 855 mainline aircraft — plus many of its 544 regional aircraft — in the second quarter, American said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Monday.
