Royal Navy Hawk trainer jet crashes, two pilots eject
A Hawk trainer jet of the British Royal Navy crashed near Helston in Cornwall, southwestern England. Both pilots ejected and were taken to a hospital. Their injuries were reported as “not life-threatening.”

US Marine F-35B accidentally shoots itself during training
A United States Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II was damaged when a round fired from its own weapon pod exploded prematurely. The accident took place on March 12, 2021, at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma in Arizona, southwestern United States.

Spirit Airlines flight diverted after passenger tried to open exit door
A Spirit Airlines flight was diverted to Denver on Wednesday after a passenger appeared to try to open an emergency exit door, officials said.
The passenger, who was not identified, was on Flight 185 from Cleveland to Los Angeles, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Operators of the Embraer 195-E2 were instructed to upgrade the airliner’s engine-control software following multiple Airbus A220 engine failures. The two aircraft are both powered by Pratt & Whitney engines, with enough commonality between the E2’s PW1900G and the A220’s PW1500G to warrant concern.
