Taiwanese F-5 fighter jets crash after colliding mid-air
Half an hour after taking off from Chihhang Air Force Base in Taitung on March 22, 2021, two Taiwanese F-5 Tiger II fighter jets crashed into the sea. The two aircraft were part of a flight group of four on a regular training mission about 2.6 km away from Pingtung, in the south of the island.

German Politician Dies After Condor 767 Declares Emergency
German politician Karin Strenz is reported to have passed away on a flight between Varadero, Cuba and Frankfurt, Germany. The flight, operated by Condor with a Boeing 767, had diverted to Shannon, making an emergency landing in order to get her medical help. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel both on the plane and on the ground, she was declared dead at the University Hospital Limerick.

Air India ATR Damaged After Suffering Bird Strike
An Air India Regional ATR-72 operated by Alliance Air experienced a bird strike during its descent to Dharamsala/Kangra Airport. Flying from Chandigarh, the incident took place on March 20th with a photo of the aircraft showing damage to the wing, close to the fuselage. While damage indicates a large bird and significant impact, the aircraft landed safely, delivering 45 passengers to their destination.

As Boeing Works On 737 MAX Planes, India Not Yet Ready To Certify Jets
Boeing has begun working on five ex-Jet Airways 737 MAXs in preparation for them to fly once again. The aircraft will return to lessors or new customers in the coming months; however, there is a hurdle. India is yet to recertify the MAX and has not allowed the aircraft to fly again, also forcing SpiceJet’s 13 jets to stay on the ground.

Etihad Airways pushes air travel recovery hopes to 2024
Etihad Airways hopes the air travel demand will recover only by 2023, but a significant rise will already come in late 2021.
According to Martin Drew, the Senior Vice President of Sales & Cargo at Etihad Airways, the carrier’s previous hopes to see the recovery by 2023 are being pushed back by a year, the Airways magazine reports.

RAF flights have recently been disrupted by GPS interference near Akrotiri base, in Cyprus. The British military accuses Russian forces deployed in Syria.
British military intelligence sources reported several attempts at disrupting the satellite communications of Royal Air Force aircraft as they had just taken off from RAF Akrotiri base in Cyprus.

The Air Force Finally Has the Keys to Its First New F-15 in Decades
The U.S. Air Force has finally received its first all-new F-15 Eagle fighter jet in 17 years. On March 11, the F-15EX flew from Boeing’s facility in St. Louis to Eglin Air Force Base in Florida alongside its two older siblings, the F-15C Eagle and F-15E Strike Eagle fighters. The new warplane will join a testing and evaluation squadron at Eglin.
