British Airways flight forced to land over burning smell in cabin
A British Airways plane flying from the United Kingdom to Italy had to make an emergency landing at Heathrow airport shortly after takeoff after passengers reported a smell of burning and a member of the flight crew felt unwell.
The Airbus A320-232, registration G-EUYD, was to carry out flight BA2596 from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Verona Airport (VRN).

US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet crashes during training in California
An F/A-18E Super Hornet fighter jet of the United States Navy crashed during training in California.
The fighter was involved in a routine training mission near China Lake Test Base when it crashed for an unknown reason.

Hong Kong flag carrier Cathay Pacific announced plans to discontinue Cathay Dragon regional airline and lay off 17% of the company’s workforce, as well as go on with HK$2.2 billion ($283.9 million) restructuring plan that will cause changes in workers’ contracts, significant executive pay cuts and delays to Boeing 777-9 deliveries.
