Embraer deliveries fall to record low in the second quarter
Fewer commercial and executive jets were delivered in the second quarter of 2020 than in any given second quarter of previous years, Embraer’s press release admits.
Brazilian company delivered just four commercial aircraft: two E190-E2s and two E175-E1s, one of them being the commemorative 1,600th E-jet received by Helvetic Airways, as well as 13 executive jets. The numbers stand in stark contrast with 24 commercial and 26 executive jet deliveries in Q2 2019.

South African government did not agree with SAA rescue plan
South African finance minister Tito Mboweni says the government has not committed to fund the new South African Airways (SAA) rescue plan.
A court paper obtained by Reuters contains Mr. Mboweni’s statement that no definitive decisions on the sourcing of funds for SAA have been taken. It also details several options for acquiring the money, including investments of pension funds, obtaining it from interested private equity partners or other strategic partners.

Indonesia interested in unpopular Austrian Eurofighter Typhoons
The Austrian authorities received a letter of intent from the Indonesian government to acquire the fleet of fifteen Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets that have been the target of constant debate for the last two decades.
The Bundesheer had been on the lookout to retire the Eurofighter Typhoon. The aircraft was chosen in 2002 to replace the Saab 35 Draken and the Northrop F-5E Tiger within the Luftstreitkräfte, the Austrian Air Force.
