Embraer Confirms Talks with Potential Partners
Embraer confirmed Monday that it has entered discussions with more than two potential partners for its commercial aircraft business as part of a five-year strategic plan it expects to formulate within the next few months. Speaking during the company’s first-quarter earnings call with securities analysts, Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto named companies in China, India, “and others” as potential partners, while confirming that the company is considering tapping financial markets—both public and private—to potentially help boost liquidity.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries closed on its acquisition of Bombardier’s CRJ program as scheduled on Monday, marking the launch of MHI RJ Aviation Group. Under the terms of the deal, MHI acquires the maintenance, engineering, airworthiness certification support, refurbishment, asset management, marketing, and sales activities for the CRJ Series aircraft, along with the type certificates and related intellectual property rights.

In May, the team of administrators overseeing the airline’s finances was given 25 days to come up with a plan to save the airline. Today, a draft proposal has been announced, which includes a 21 billion rand ($1.2 billion) bailout loan to help the airline overcome the effects of the coronavirus outbreak.

Linköping City Airport’s runway to be moved and broadened
