The first-ever flight of the highly anticipated Boeing 777X has been postponed. Inclement weather in the Washington area has meant the flight test could not go ahead today. Instead, Boeing will look to fly the giant bird for the first time on Friday.

South African Airways (SAA) operated the first international flight for its new Airbus A350-900. The aircraft left Johannesburg for New York on 20th January 2020.
SAA had been getting used to its new arrival on domestic operations. The plane had mostly been operated on flights between two of South Africa’s capitals of Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Norwegian Will Now Charge For Hand Luggage
As of today (23rd January 2020), Norwegian has changed its hand luggage policy meaning that passengers on certain ticket types will lose some of their luggage allowance or face extra charges.
Norwegian has made cutbacks to its previously generous luggage allowance downgrading passengers with the LowFare ticket type.

Changi Airport to begin Terminal 2 expansion works
Changi Airport Group (CAG) has announced its plans for expansion and renovation works at its Terminal 2 (T2), which will begin in late January 2020 and is expected to be completed by 2024.
The project will begin work on check-in rows nine to 12 in the departures hall, and marks the beginning of a multi-year expansion project to increase T2’s handling capacity and replace the outdated facilities and amenities.

LAX unveils new 'Fly Quieter' programme to reduce noise levels
Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has launched a new initiative aimed at incentivising proactive efforts by large commercial airlines to fly as quietly as possible at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
