Aviation Quote

I want to go in the air, not a bathtub.

- A. Scott Crossfield. quoted in the Washington Post as having said this the day before his fatal flight, 'Clues Surface in Death of Expert Pilot,' published September 16, 2007. He had written many years before in 1960 that, "Death is the handmaiden of the pilot, sometimes it comes by accident, sometimes by an act of God." Scott's last known words, calmly spoken, were "Atlanta, this is Seven Nine X-ray. I'd like to deviate south. Weather." 19 April 2006.

Boeing promotes F-15 as air-to-air missile truck

Someone at Boeing needs to be slapped for wasting their money and the JASDFs time. The JASDF has no interest in an AIM-120 truck. They have no interst in the AIM-120. They only ever bought a handful of AIM-120s to ensure the F-15J fleet could fire them in the event that missile stocks need to be shared in a time of a war. The domestic AAM-3 and AAM-4 are used in favor of the American counterparts. They've also already upgraded the radars, installed data links and are transitioning to helmet mounted sights.
