Airbus To Delay Some A320neo Deliveries - Report
Airbus is reported to be renegotiating delivery schedules for the A320neo and has told some airlines the aircraft will be delayed by around two months, as issues with new engines continue. Airbus missed a 2015 target for delivering the first aircraft due to what it described as issues with documentation for its new Pratt & Whitney engines.

OPINION: Iran's Airbus order - shopping while hungry?
Iran Air’s former bureau in central London, opposite the Ritz Hotel, used to draw the attention of passers-by because its window display featured a large aircraft model unlike any other in the capital. Shown in full Iran Air livery, the BAC-Aérospatiale Concorde was both striking and anachronistic – a symbol of pre-revolutionary Iranian opulence still being used to promote the Islamic republic’s flag-carrier, over 30 years since it was blocked from purchasing Western jets.

Turkish Airlines, Boeing sign long-term agreement
Turkish Airlines and Boeing have signed a collaboration agreement to strengthen the carrier’s industry position, as well as Turkey’s aerospace and technology capabilities. Turkish Airlines chairman M. Ilker Ayci and Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and CEO Ray Conner signed the agreement in Seattle at Boeing’s latest 777-300ER and 737-800 delivery to the Turkish flag carrier.

Air Berlin Managers, Pilots Agree Pay Cuts
Managers and pilots at Air Berlin have agreed to pay cuts as the German airline tries to reduce costs. About 80 managers will see their remuneration cut by between 5 and 10 percent this year, and the pilots will also make a contribution to the latest cost cutting effort, a spokesman said.

Air Astana extends codeshare deals to Air France-KLM
Kazakhstan flag carrier Air Astana has signed a codeshare agreement with Air France-KLM on its 3X-weekly schedule from Astana International Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). The shared schedules will fly 136-seat Boeing 757-200 aircraft. The arrangement, which will come into force from March 11, will also see Air Astana flights move from its existing gate at Terminal 1 to Terminal 2a at CDG. Air Astana said this would enable closer and more effective links between the two airline's baggage and transfer operations.

American expands complimentary in-flight entertainment
American Airlines expanded its menu of complimentary in-flight entertainment on Feb. 1. Free content now includes 60 television shows, hundreds of albums and contemporary movies.

Cathay's first A350 delivery pushed to late April
Cathay Pacific says the delivery of its first Airbus A350-900 will be pushed back to late April, because of a “cabin product issue”. The airline made the disclosure in its monthly magazine CX World, saying the original delivery was slated for February.

Somali Plane Bomb, Meant To Kill All On Board
The blast that blew a hole in the fuselage of the Daallo Airlines plane was caused by a bomb meant to kill everyone on board, Somalia's minister for transport and aviation said. One passenger died and two were injured in the explosion on the Daallo A321. It was forced to make an emergency landing at Mogadishu airport last Tuesday.

Hawaiian Airlines flew more passengers in Jan.
Hawaiian Airlines transported 4.3% more passengers in January on a year-over-year basis. Last month, the carrier flew 884,990 passengers. Revenue passenger miles also increased by 5.2% for the month, while load factor rose 2.9%.

Jet Airways Posts Record Quarterly Net Profit
Jet Airways' December quarter net profit rose more than seven times, with sharply lower fuel costs helping the carrier post a third consecutive quarterly gain following a series of losses. Jet, India's second largest carrier by market share, said net profit in the October-December period rose to INR4.67 billion rupees (USD$68.88 million) from INR631.1 million rupees a year earlier.

SAS CRJ900 gear collapses after apparent vehicle collision
Images from the scene of a ground accident at Copenhagen indicate that a Scandinavian Airlines Bombardier CRJ900 has sustained serious damage, apparently during a vehicle collision. The aircraft suffered a collapse of its left-hand main landing-gear on 4 February which, according to the images, appears to have been distorted rearwards into the wing fairing.

SkyWest swings to $118 million 2015 net profit
SkyWest Inc., the St. George, Utah-based parent of regional carriers SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines, earned a net profit of $117.8 million for the full-year 2015, reversed from a net loss of $24.2 million in 2014. The regional airline operator credited the improved earnings on its continued shift from an emphasis on flying 50-seat aircraft to flying dual-class 76-seat aircraft (Bombardier CRJ700s/900s and Embraer E175s).

Portugal, Investors To Share Control Of TAP
The new Portuguese government and a private consortium that bought a 61 percent stake in flag carrier TAP last year have agreed in principle to give the state a larger stake and share control of the airline, leaving it under private management. After long and uneasy negotiations that began when the Socialist government took over in November, promising to regain control of the indebted airline, the sides signed a memorandum of understanding on Saturday under which the state will pay EUR€1.9 million to lift its stake to 50 percent from 34 percent.

Virgin America to begin Los Angeles-Honolulu service
Virgin America it will fly from Los Angeles to Honolulu and Maui later this year. The California-based carrier said the two routes will test the range of its new Airbus A320s so much that it will suspend them for a short period in winter when headwinds are strongest.[url]Link[/url]

Russia’s Pulkovo airport traffic down 5.4% in 2015
Saint Petersburg’s Pulkovo International Airport handled 13.5 million passengers in 2015, down 5.4% year-over-year. Despite the downward trend, 10 new airlines launched flights at the airport last year, Pulkovo said in a statement. The new entries include six Russian airlines—Red Wings, Pobeda Airline, Ikar Airline, YuVT-Aero, Komiaviatrans and Vologda air enterprise—as well as four international carriers: Brussels Airlines, Georgia Airways, Meridiana and China Southern Airlines.

Former Sikorsky president killed in P-51D crash
Former Sikorsky president Jeff Pino was killed in a crash of his North American P-51D Mustang on 5 February. Pino, the owner of the warbird nicknamed “Big Beautiful Doll”, and another man onboard the P-51D were confirmed killed in the crash in Pinal County, Arizona.

Italy claims first F-35 transatlantic crossing
An Italian Air Force pilot flying the first Italian-made F-35A Lightning II has made history today after completing the maiden transatlantic crossing of the stealthy, single-engine Lockheed Martin type. What’s more, aircraft AL-1 was refuelled en route by Italy’s own Boeing KC-767 tanker, which received F-35 tanking certification at Edwards AFB between July and September last year.
