Court ruling means further delays to Heathrow's runway expansion
Heathrow's third runway is off, for now anyway, following the Court of Appeal's decision that the government's greenliight for the project was unlawful.

Self-service bag-drop system trialled at LAX’s Tom Bradley terminal
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has installed a faster, easy-to-use self-service bag-drop system in the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
Available in Aisles B and C of the ticketing lobby, the self-service system can be used by passengers flying with Asiana, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa and Norwegian airlines, with Scandinavian Airlines scheduled to be added.

New credential authentication technology introduced by Boston Airport
Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) has introduced new Credential Authentication Technology (CAT) scanners at several Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security checkpoints across its site. The CAT scanners are able to validate a traveller’s identification and confirm their flight information in near real time.

New flight paths planned for Tokyo Haneda Airport, which could see more than 100 aircraft a day passing low over residential districts, has sparked an outcry from local residents. Y-20 AEW and Tanker Variants To Appear Soon
China is expected to publicly unveil the tanker variant of the Xian Y-20 military transport aircraft soon, while an airborne early warning and control system (AWACS) version is in development. The commander of an air force aviation regiment of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Western Theater Command, Teng Hui, confirmed to Chinese state media the existence of the two variants and that the public will see the tanker version in the “not too distant future.”

Azerbaijan Buys the M-346 as Caucasus Stand-off Continues
Azerbaijan has signed a preliminary agreement to buy an unspecified number of Leonardo M-346 Master training/light attack aircraft, the website of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced in late February. According to Azerbaijani sites, the number of aircraft to be purchased is between 10 and 25 (10 plus an option for 15).
