Hawaiian is "very strategic" with social media, exec saysHawaiian Airlines manages its social media accounts with a staff of two people by "being very strategic in the content that we produce on the outbound side," said Asiana Ponciano, social media marketing specialist for the carrier. "Our philosophy for social media marketing is to entice new visitors, and keep those who have experienced our service loyal to us by serving up to them authentic content coming from a page that is local," Ponciano said. "So connecting to those who identify us a hometown carrier, but also to those around the world who have a special connection to Hawaii." Hawaiian offers content on three channels on Facebook and four channels on Twitter, among other accounts.

The engine agreement was signed at the Airshow China 2016 in Zhuhai. Xiamen Airlines also expanded a TrueChoice Material agreement for the new GEnx-1B fleet for the new and used material and advance repairs needed for engine MRO services. The engine order and TrueChoice Material agreement are valued at more than $630 million at list prices.
