Surgery on Friday

Everything that would not belong anywhere else.

On October 22, 2021, I passed out due to a syncopal episode while getting a panoramic x-ray at the dentist. I fractured the distal end of my left collarbone.

The docs, at the time, chose to see what it would do on its own in regard to healing. Well, it didn't heal at all. Essentially, I have a broken collarbone floating around my left shoulder with a little piece just sitting there. Nothing healed. The doc says I must have a high pain tolerance.

Below is the latest x-ray. The blue arrow points to the collarbone with the jagged end floating around. The yellow arrow points to the tip that broke off... that was supposed to heal to the piece shown by the blue arrow.

Friday morning, the orthopedist it going to connect the two pieces with a plate and screws.

I hope it's healed by the LAX meet.

Good luck, to a speedy recovery.
And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

Best of luck. Yep, you must have some grit to put up with that for as long as you have.

On the other hand, do you get to skip the magnetometer? Just a "friendly" pat down? {mischief} {duck}

Not too bad. A little numb. Aches at times. What isn't bruising is disinfectant and 3M Dermabond skin glue.
