For your viewing pleasure. Looks great to me so far, possibly a very worthy sequel.

I'm pleasantly surprised - the story could yet turn out to be terrible, but it looks like some serious airplane porn. I am encouraged by the fact a lot of big names have returned to it, and it seems to be bereft of behind-the-scenes controversies.
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Other than the crew of (think it was) the Theodore Roosevelt wasn't too keen on Cruise and his standoff-ness.

But the trailer looks awesome. It's been passed around work all afternoon. :))

Here are some of the things I have picked out so far after seeing it at least 20 times and doing some pausing/rewinding...

Locker with unit stickers includes a Skunk Works sticker at the far left and his old Top Gun unit sticker just to the right.

Trophy with the sun glasses hanging off it says "test pilot", but I am not sure what that piece is from (maybe someone can help me here).

In the two scenes with Ed Harris (presumably his superior), he appears to have a full pressure suit on, ala SR-71.

There is one short scene of someone in a full pressure suit who looks vaguely to me like Iceman sitting in the closing cockpit of what looks similar to a SR-71 cockpit.

At the very end, there is DEFINITELY an F-14 flying away from the screen.

Looks to be a mix of CG and real, the CG is pretty darn good, but not foolproof (engine runup with AB on carrier, tailhook is unscratched).

It appears the bike may be the same one as in the original, very similar looking with stickers on it (any crotch rocket experts out there who can confirm?)

I do know that there were some (very few) Navy pilots who flew SR-71's, maybe there is more of a tie-in than the trailer allows.

More to follow. It's a great day! Only a little less than a year to go! :)

More cheesy than doctor Wensleydale McStilton, inventor of the fondue.

Point proven. For many reasons, I suspect you will thoroughly enjoy it.
A million great ideas...

I didn't analyse it in any detail, but there were a few moments in there that I couldn't be sure whether it was real or CGI. That's some pretty good CGI.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

I don't get the F-14 at the end...

Did he defect to Iran? :))

Tom Cruise said at ComicCon a couple of days ago that it's all real, no CGI. Very interesting...
