Mother and Father in Law in Orlando. Sister in law is there. They have prepared. Nephew and his woman are here in Fox Lake with us.

Gen-Set checked, test run, and has plenty of fuel. Water, Rations, etc. Same as two years ago. Only this hurricane is stronger, so we'll see. Now it's all about the track it takes.

I have other friends down that way . . . . MiamiAir and Mrs in Miami, some retired military friends in Ft. Lauderdale, some other retired military friends at PBI. Other family in Tampa. Stay safe my friends.

I've often daydreamed about obtaining a 747 and making it my home. I've found one, for only $8.8 Million. It's not only a 747, but an SP. It's not only an SP, but the former VP-BAT.

For an upcoming trip, I got crapped on. My original B788 was replaced by an A330-200. {crazy}

Years ago, I learned Yum Foods owned KFC, Taco Bell, A&W and Long John Silver's. Today I learned that a company called Inspire Brands has, within the past two years, merged Arby's with Buffalo Wild Wings, then bought Sonic restaurants and just finished buying Jimmy Johns. So I wonder why it is that Yum hasn't had an all-in-one restaurant (I think I've seen a three-in-one - Taco Bell, LJS and one of the other two).

Maybe Inspire will lead the way. The catering dream that that could be - some Sonic corndogs with some boneless parmesan garlic on the side, added with roast beef classics and some Jimmy John's platters of sandwiches, delivered drive-in diner style by some young woman on skates so fast you'll freak. {nut}

AA did that to me and MRSANC a couple weeks ago . . . ORD-SAT/SAT-DFW-ORD. So I changed the ticket. And AA bought the change fee. Persistence. 788 it is on 11/6. And then to HNL on 2/21, both ways.

Better live up to the hype, cost enough (we're not in Y of course).

Fun fact:

KLM and BA are the oldest airlines in the world. Both celebrated their 100th birthday these days.

netAirspace has been around for more than 10% of that time.

Might as well keep the useless thread alive a bit longer...anybody buy any masks/respirators lately?

Speaking of useless...

These masks have been designed for surgeons, so that no potentially infectious droplets from their respiratory system will contaminate an open surgical wound.

In other words, they were not designed to prevent stuff from going out, not from going in. So the only scenario where wearing a mask in public makes sense is when you yourself caught a flu, and want to protect others in your vincinity.

The other small positive effect from wearing a mask is that keeps you from picking your nose or poking in your mouth, which can lead to an infection when your hands aren't clean.

Washing your hands more frequently than usual is something that would make sense. Even the moderate use of mild disinfectants at home is not unreasonable, especially when anybody in the house already came down with a flu.

But other than making you feel better, wearing a mask will have little to no effect.

Exactly what I read from a doc on Twitter before I posted, but apparently many have already been sold, thus mostly all the wrong people will be wearing them.

And no, I'm not wearing them (and hope I don't have to do so), but I think it's good to have some regardless.

I guess some of our resident Military Vets like Pep or other more senior members on netAirspace wish today that they would have bought a certain Rolex back in the 70's for 345 USD and kept it somewhere in a safe.

Today it would be worth up to 700.000 USD.

I saw that . . . probably shoulda done that . . . .but Rolex and Abrams tank or squad car don't mix . . . .get a good old Timex ($20) so when you slam it against something you're not out $345 or $700,000. I do have a Breitling though. It stays in a box until I have some formal something to do.

I bought a digital POS Timex for $30 back in 1993. Had military time, seconds counter, and other cool shit a nurse needs. It's been puked on, shit on, pissed on, bled on, and God knows what else. God damned thing has outlasted three other watches. Only changed the battery twice. Still have it.
