A 17 year old girl in Romania has died while attempting to Twitter from her bathtub.
Flavia Boricea (incorrectly named on some sites as Maria Barbu) is believed to have been electrocuted while trying to plug her laptop in to continue a Twitter session interrupted by a flat battery. Reports on how she was electrocuted aren’t precise: Romanian State television said that the electrocution was due to her having wet hands, although other reports suggest the laptop fell into the bath.
She was found dead in the bathtub by her parents, with her laptop lying next to her.
It probably goes without saying folks: Twitter and bath water don’t mix.

One thing I don't get... any laptop I've ever seen the main cord plugs into a transformer box. The juice coming from that box to the laptop is what, like 12v and pretty low amperage. How the hell does that kill you?

Voltage doesn't kill you, amperage does.

Interesting choice of words.
I think it's time to run errands.

She was half in and half out of the tub. Feet still in the water with one hand on the metal water faucet for support and the other reaching out with a cord for the plug receptacle. She is very wet. Some of this wetness drips into the plug receptacle. Current enters her hand and goes to ground in two ways at once. one, through other hand holding faucet via heart and two, through feet into water and down metal drain. Or to put simply...

"Today, I had a bath in the bathroom we are currently renovating. There's a big hole in the middle of the floor. When I got out of the bath, I swung one leg across the gap to get a towel from the rack. I drew back my leg and looked down to see my brother's hot friend staring up at me in horror. FML"
