Late start, already 2 months into the year, but I wanted to start this because of Gene Hackman's passing. I'm pretty sure it was the movie "Hoosiers" that made me like anything about Indiana for the first time.

Gene Hackman, 95. Hope they find what really happened.

Naturally, it's a big story here locally. Initially it seemed like a clear case of CO2 poisoning, but the latest reports suggest that this isn't the case. It'll be months before a cause is found, if at all.

Boxing heavyweight legend George Foreman has died aged 76.

Known as Big George in the ring, the American built one of the most remarkable and enduring careers in the sport, winning Olympic gold in 1968 and claiming the world heavyweight title twice, 21 years apart - the second making him the oldest champion in history aged 45.
