LOL, I almost did, but a GQ pilot was talking to me and telling me about how miserable it was to fly them, so I decided that I wasn't that interested. :P

Most of the airlines I flew seem to be still alive. Gotta admit, I had to google some of them to make sure they really are. You never know these days...

Those that do no exist anymore are:

Air Berlin
Blue1
bmi
Germanwings
Hamburg International
Hapag-Lloyd Flug
LTU
Nationwide Airlines (South Africa)

I forgot AB, didn't realise 4U had been sacrificed on the altar of LH's desperate scramble for survival.

Zak (netAirspace FAA) 06 Aug 20, 19:25Post
4U's fate has been sealed many years ago already, even before the murder-crash in 2015.

LH had acquired the majority in Germanwings shares in 2011, in an attempt to outsource staff to a company that's not bound to LH's union-controlled labour agreement.

Other than that, there has never been a coherent strategy behind the brand. This culminated in LH establishing Eurowings as another LCC brand, using Germanwings only as a wet-lease operator. The Germanwings brand was set to vanish over the years.

The 2015 crash and the COVID pandemic accelerated their demise, and 4U finally went into liquidation in April.

The real question is indeed if EW and LH will share that fate one day... {boxed}

I sure hope not. Pre-COVID they were two of my favorite rides.
