As reported by The Reykjavik Grapevine, Icelandair has fired all of its flight attendants, as the company will instead try to find “another party in the Icelandic labor market” to replace current employees.

As of July 20, 2020, and until further notice, Icelandair will use pilots to replace flight attendants

The decision to fire all flight attendants comes after members of Icelandair’s flight attendant union voted against a collective bargaining agreement about a year ago. Management and flight attendants have been unable to come to an agreement regarding wages and time off.

They aren't messing about :o Good job, union, good job.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

Per the Daily, this seems to have focused a few minds:

The flag carrier of Iceland, Icelandair, had an eventful weekend. After firing its every single cabin crew member and discontinuing the relationship between the airline and the union on July 17, the company welcomed all of them back on July 19, 2020, as the flight attendants caved in and agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement.

Sometimes hardball tactics work.... especially when over 50% of FA's around the world are out of work.

I don't know the details of this, but I hope Iceland Air wasn't taking advantage of the situation.
