Even in normal times LATAM was intricate. Its Chapter 11 bankruptcy adds complexity. For example, LATAM’s largest business, in Brazil, is not filing for Chapter 11.

LATAM is a parent owner and common brand for individual airlines and other businesses in different Latin American countries. All of them are part of the LATAM group, but not all of them are filing for Chapter 11.

Included in the restructuring are five of LATAM’s eight main passenger airlines: LATAM and LATAM Express in Chile, LATAM Colombia, LATAM Ecuador, and LATAM Peru. (These trading names differ from legal entities.)

Excluded are three LATAM passenger airlines in Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay.

This likely will have some impact (perhaps speed up) the partnership with Delta. It's worth noting that LATAM & 28 subsidiaries are part of the Ch. 11 filing.
