I'm surprised someone hasn't snatched up those 757s that might be airworthy. The "rocket ship" plane should never have been cancelled.
LET'S GO BRANDON!!!!

Not only the A380s.
Also 5 of 13 747-400, 7 of 17 A340-600 and 11 A320 will not return in service anymore!

And some more 4-holers head off into the sunset.

Don't know why they couldn't have sent the ATRs instead.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

G-VGAL, one of the 747s Virgin have been storing at MAN temporarily, will make her final flight (as a VS aircraft, though I doubt the market for 747s is huge right now) to CQM tomorrow.

Such a sad day for us MD fans--the skies of ATL are forever quieter, and I'll miss that rumble and roar during my sessions there. I'll see if I can put together a short trip report on DL88, if time permits.

Fortunately, there was a bit of fanfare following the abrupt retirement of the fleet, and we had a very nice sendoff on June 2. From 26E, here in the photo is one of the last "family" photos, all three MD variants in the fleet, down to just the MD-95 now.

I have not heard their fate just yet, but fortunately, they are not on the immediate retirement list for now.

That would be strange I would...hope...as DL utilizes the crap out of them in MSP and SLC. I look for the MD-95 when booking eye checkup trips for my wife when we fly to SNA.

Up until the shut down, there was always a B712 en route to MSP on radar. None now. Where are they being stored?
