Where the heck is that going? Seems like it's just cruising around Svalbard.

Once round the hold and into Longyearbyen, presumably for some polar-bear spotting.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

Wow, that aircraft has about the most random flight history I've seen in a while: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/g-tcsx

On another note, the night from Monday to Tuesday, I was half asleep when I heard a very intense low humming noise outside. Turned out to be one of Cavok's An-12 enroute LEJ to KEF, crusing just shy of 24,000 ft. It was audible for several minutes.

Well, isn't that annoying. I was in Helsinki on the 8th. {grumpy}

Just flown over inbound to LPL from FRA:

I suspect it's next move will take it to NAP with the Liverpool football team.

Twice last week (or the week before, can't remember), I saw AA 752s approaching SNA.

Typically DL and UPS are the only 757s that fly into SNA. AA is usually 738s (and maybe A320s).

So as boring as an AA 752 is, it was still notable.

Santa season is upon us. Rovaniemi has seen a couple of easyjets and a BA A320 rocking the callsign XMS002. Meanwhile, there's an Astraeus bird doing a random Ivalo-Bournemouth.

Shame there's next to no light up there for photography...

Astraeus? That would be worth a night shot!

Yes, it would. Brain fart. Imager calibration will do that to you. {crazy}

This one flew over my house today:

Direction to Aisa but destination unknown. Maybe a charter to bring tourists back home.

With such good weather (naturally, a solid week of UK sunshine and high temperatures coincides with the coronavirus lockdown!) most of the air traffic in the north west of the country is related to aerial surveys.

There are also occasional Ryanair flights taking off and then landing at Manchester, basically doing a single circuit for airworthiness/contractual reasons whilst parked up.

Went to Shanghai, now on its way back to LIS carrying protective gear and medical supply.
Grounded...

Yep. Hardly anything approaching SNA over my work. And much less traffic approaching LAX over my home.

So weird.
ShanwickOceanic (netAirspace FAA) 08 Apr 20, 14:40Post
Yep, I've checked FR24 a few times lately and found Finnish airspace entirely empty. Finnair are down to 20 routes, and with some of those being domestic and the whole Helsinki region locked down, it may be even less. Bizarre.

I'm certainly not going all the way out to the airport for one poxy ATR and no coffee!

At one point yesterday every air ambulance registered in the UK was in the air, which I believe is a first. One landed at a hospital, the rest seemed to be up to something involving the Royal Navy which caused quite the stir on various groups.

Still a lot of freight traffic passing overhead. Seems the current winds favour a relatively southerly route over the Atlantic.
A million great ideas...

I heard an airplane fly over yesterday! It was exciting.

Unfortunately, it was cloudy and rainy, so couldn't see it.
Mark 10 Apr 20, 15:01Post
These things typically take a route between CHS and PAE that passes to my south. But, sometimes they fly a more northerly route that brings them over me (20 miles east of MSP).
