Just heard a Wamos A330 overhead, operating for Norwegian I believe, LGW-DEN.

Not that I can see it, OVC002 here right now.
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Just saw VH-ZNH performing QF10 LHR-PER flying over.
Grounded...

This. They normally take a more westerly route, but this one is flying right overhead.

UPS MD-11F N254UP operating US6214 CGN - SDF just passed overhead. Sounded very laboured, I suspect it was close to MTOW tonight.

A million great ideas...

Walked out of work yesterday afternoon only to have N3476G (B-25 Mitchell) pass by overhead on approach to SNA.

Of course, they wait till you don't have a camera. I have a similar relationship with the air ambulance here; sit at the airport for hours, and it pops up just as I get on the bus home. It also flies past my office during the worst meetings.

https://www.flightradar24.com/LJ35/208187b4 - Identified only as "LJ35", it's flown up the Russian border, spent a good while loitering low-level in the middle of nowhere, and is now heading down the border again. I assume it's one of the Finnish Air Force birds:

My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

I saw it again on downwind yesterday....as I was driving home. {grumpy}

Something fun going on up there. Currently got a French Air Force MRTT doing laps over the same nowhere: https://www.flightradar24.com/FAF4081/20846f65

Also watching AY2 (OH-LWL, the Marimekko A350) headed home to HEL from Vik's part of the world, currently over Norway. I'll be on this flight home from the LAX meet in November, so I was pretty damn excited to see it pass within 100 miles of Jan Mayen, a place that has fascinated me ever since I first heard of it.

Edit: https://www.flightradar24.com/FIN2/20840015 That's one hell of an efficient routing. Or one hell of a base leg. Great circle, hang a right, and you're on 10-mile final. {bugeye}

Thanks to a heads-up from Ed, I got to watch it pass near my house 20 miles east of LAX. Was kind of high and distant, so no good photos unfortunately.

Quite low and close, in fact! :))

Not directly overhead, but close. MSP-based Sun Country Airlines flew a B738 from MSP to STP. Weird for three reasons. First, STP (St. Paul Downtown Airport) is only five miles from MSP. Second, I can't remember the last time a commercial jet airliner flew into STP. It typically sees nimble, little business jets and helicopters. Thirdly, its only passenger was a baby pig.

The St. Paul Saints minor league baseball team's new stadium is spitting distance from STP and the pig is the team's new mascot. The pig will be officially introduced to the fans at tonight's game. Apparently, Sun Country Airlines is a team sponsor.

I wonder what the flight path was from MSP to STP.

Pretty light winds, I assume, for that to work.

Yes that meets all required clearances.

Just.

Why go underground when you can design mongoloid transmission line structures?

Speaking of random...

I had a dream last night that three AN-124s in a row landed at LAX.

But then it turned out one was a go-around and 2nd approach. So it was actually just two of them.

Alas....it was a dream.

But I will note that even in the dream, I didn't have my camera.

I had mine, but the CF card got corrupted. Then that damned helicopter popped up.

Very unusual visitor to HEL today:

I'd never seen it before, so that was cool.

Seems to be mapping season here in Finland. At least four aircraft are currently drawing parallel lines on FR24:

BA7 taking an unusual route today. Looked like it was going to do the same as usual, passing over Kajaani (about 60 miles south-east of here) heading north-east. Then it turned, headed due north, and went right over OUL before turning north-east again.
