The U.S. government will not allow Delta to serve flight routes to Kenya and Liberia because of security concerns. Delta said it had recently learned about the decision by the Transportation Security Administration and said the agency likely just needs time to approve the flights.

Way to go TSA, wait until the very last minute. If Delta wants to serve these places. let them, make DL be responsible for the security at the airports etc. Is there any way we can put TSA out of it's misery? It would be a start in cutting the federal budget.

VERY last minute indeed, everyone in Kenya, including the US ambassador, who didn't know about this delay either.

And if the TSA has problem with security issues in Africa, let DL just rescreen passengers in Dakar, regardless if they come from Monrovia or Nairobi. It's really pathetic, Delta has found a market in US-Africa flights that can actually earn US carriers good money, and still they can't fully take advantage because authorities on either side of the pond act up. At least the Nigerian authorities start their bull**** early enough so that Delta can react (see the delay of Abuja), and not at the very last second like the TSA.
