I was out here this morning. When I looked at the Google Earth image, I saw nothing but a small hangar north of the passenger terminal with an A300 missing its right wing. When I got here, I was shocked. It looked like a mini-Victorville.

The facilities are west of the runway in a new hangar. There was a TF registered A300F in the hangar, but what was parked outside was impressive. Lots of China Eastern A343s waiting to get torn down, several A330s, both -200s and -300s. A few Boeing and MS products awaiting the scrapman. Photography was NOT allowed, so that was that. It was sad seeing so many airframes being zapped by the cutting wheel. I never got an answer as to what was in store for an A340-500. It was parked away from everything else, and had plugs on the fan and turbine exhausts. Speaking with one of the managers, the A345 is a dog with fleas. It has the range, but more costs than a 777. The Trent engines also present problems with some of the life-limited components.

And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

Very interesting !

Also on the company's website it is mentioned that they expect to have a dependence open by end of this year, located at Teruel airport ( ICAO: LE07 ) some 100 mi northwest of Valencia, Spain.

Google Maps appears to have no current aerial pictures of airport LE07.

That's sad. Did they at least say why?
Make Orwell fiction again.
